Established in 1987 as the world's first dedicated semiconductor foundry, TSMC has consistently experienced strong growth by building solid partnerships with its customers and satisfying the manufacturing needs of IC suppliers from around the world with its unique integration of cutting-edge process technologies, pioneering design services, manufacturing productivity and product quality.
In 2021, TSMC shipped more than 13 million 12-inch equivalent wafers with its’ global facilities, including four 12-inch wafer GIGAFAB® fabs, four 8-inch wafer fabs, and one 6-inch wafer fab – all in Taiwan – as well as one 12-inch wafer fab at a wholly owned subsidiary, TSMC Nanjing Company Limited, and two 8-inch wafer fabs at wholly owned subsidiaries, WaferTech in the United States and TSMC China Company Limited. The Company continues to execute its plan for an advanced fab in Arizona, the United States, and established a subsidiary, Japan Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing, Inc (JASM), in Kumamoto, Japan in 2021, both with production targeted for 2024.
